The Rocket Lance is one of the weapons featured in Brawlhalla. The weapon features a large forward blade with a wide base and an equally wide rear rocket-power engine mounted on a long handle. The Rocket Lance focuses heavily on horizontal and off-horizontal charging attacks to push and build damage.

The following Legends use the Rocket Lance:

Weapon Attacks[]

Grounded Attacks[]

Light ground attacks

Input Description Damage Stun Frame Advantage Force Animation Frame Data (min) Notes
Stun (total) Stun (after hit) Variable Fixed Startup Frames Active Frames Recovery Frames
↑ / - Two short jabs forward with the lance point from a standing position. Hitting with either results in a third jab that carries the Legend a very short distance forward. 14 or 20 47 or 67 19 6 0 or 40 45 or 43 7 6(14)3 10 Damage value given relies on all three hits being landed.
← / → A short rocket-propelled charge forward with the lance point. Carries the Legend a short distance. Hits up to nine times, and lifts the target upwards upon impact. 7.5 up to 12 30 17 15 0 75 or 48 8 11 18 Regardless of where the player meets the target during the charging attack, the target will always receive the same amount of damage and both player and target will always end in the same position relative to the starting position.
A fast, fiery expulsion from the lance's exhaust end in front. Hits several times with little force. Up to 18 42 23 5 0 or 0 or 4 25 or 18 or 35 7 20 17 Pushes you sligthly backward. Good for evading attacks aimed straight at your position. Damage will vary according to how long the attack is hitting the target for.

Air Attacks[]

Light air attacks

Input Description Damage Stun Frame Advantage Force Animation Frame Data (min) Notes
Stun (total) Stun (after hit) Variable Fixed Startup Frames Active Frames Recovery Frames
↑ / - A flaming backflip with the lance's exhaust that hits most things an arc above and around the Legend. Legend isn't moved by attack. 18.45 31 27 10 28 to 30 50 to 55 12 14 22 The only Lance attack that hits directly above you. Damage will vary according to where the target is hit relative to the lance attack. More damage up and in front of the player.
← / → A short, rocket-propelled charge that carries the Legend straight forward a moderate distance. Hits up to 11 times. Up to 19.5 35 15 3 0 104~95 or 104~85 13 10 20 Damage will vary according to how long the attack is hitting the target for.
A rocket-propelled downwards diagonal surfing dive. Carries the Legend forward and down at a perfect 20 degree angle. hits up to 13 times in the air, and up to 11 on the ground, however, hitting the opponent into the ground deals more damage. Up to 22 (more than 18 requires the opponent to be hit into the ground at the end) 29 16 3 0 or 27 114~102~102 or 61 11 13 20 Damage will vary according to how long the attack is hitting the target for.

Heavy air attacks

Input Description Damage Stun Frame Advantage Force Animation Frame Data (min) Notes
Stun (total) Stun (after hit) Variable Fixed Startup Frames Active Frames Recovery Frames
↑ / ← / → / - A chargeable, rocket-propelled blast upwards that carries the Legend a distance forward and upwards proportional to the amount of time charged. 45 degree angle. 20 to 24.5 24 to 37 18 3 54 58 14 7 14 Damage will increase if the attack is charged for longer, but will of course come out slower. When the attack hits, the character stops moving upwards, which, if it is being used to recover back to stage, is detremental. However, it is relativley easy to chase dodge back up to stage after a scuffed recovery. As the attack is charging, the player will move marginally downwards and to the side, which is dangerous if they are close to the stage's killbox, as charging it for too long can lead to a death. An exhausted recovery cannot be charged.
A downwards plummeting hit with the rear of the lance that carries the Legend straight down. Stops at the ground or if it hits a target. 25 23 22 -8 49 58 16 24 (or until hit) 12 (air) 23 (ground) Hits slightly around the Lance’s landing point if it hits the ground.

Strategies[]

For Legend-specific strategies, go to the Legend's individual page above
  • As one would expect from a Lance (a rocket-powered lance, no less), the Rocket Lance is best used for forward-facing charges. In addition to its strong light attacks, many of which move the attacker forward, all but a few of the Rocket Lance Legends have one Signature heavy that involves a powerful forward charging attack, which tends to be the most powerful move in the their arsenal. Use your light attacks and recovery moves to keep the opponent at bay, and to get yourself into position to make the most out of it.
  • The Rocket Lance's Neutral Air is a reliable means of protecting yourself while you're in the air, or to catch an opponent who has gotten too close to you by surprise.
  • Generally, the Rocket Lance is the most dangerous weapon to share a horizontal plane with due to it's numerous forward-facing charges and forward-facing-charged-based strings. Canny opponents will realize this, and canny lance users will be aware that canny opponents know this.
  • Rocket Lance is also notable for having extremely powerful recovery options - in addition to its Recovery move, which goes farther the longer it is charged, the Rocket Lance's aerial-side supplements recovery by allowing traversal of horizontal distance without losing altitude.
  • If a lance user is trying to recover to stage and hits an opponent with their recovery, it cuts short. It is, however, easy to chase dodge back to stage, usually giving a lance user more height than if they didn't hit an opponent.
  • A lance user's blind spots are generally above them. If you are playing against someone who is taking advantage of this, one easy solution is to throw your lance up at an opponent or do a jump Neutral Air
