Katars are one of the weapons in Brawlhalla. These dual-wielded punching knives are a fast and short ranged weapon that excels at rush-down and string based play.

  • One of the fastest weapons in the game, Katars trade range for speed, often only barely having more range than Unarmed attacks. The Katars' comboing power is nearly unmatched for a skilled player however, and it is a weapon that excels in catching your opponents by surprise and then keeping them there. Like the Sword, it relies on rapid sequences of short-ranged attacks to quickly build up damage, though it has, perhaps counter-intuitively, a few more options for finishing off an opponent once damage has been built up than the sword. Think of yourself as a buzzing hornet, moving quickly around your opponent and stinging them again and again until they are finished.
  • A quick and easily executable combo sequence is a Ground Down Light (which lifts yourself and your opponent) followed by an Aerial Up Heavy. If the opponent's damage is not very high, this can be preceded by the Aerial Down Light diving attack.

  • Real world Katars originated in India and are most commonly known as an Indian weapon.
  • Most katars, including many of the katars in the game, have broad-based blades in order to prevent the blade from snapping due to the force that they can be wielded with, due to their "push" design.
  • The katars often serve as a replacement for claws in-game, most well-demonstrated by Asuri.
  • Katars are also famously used by another well-known fighting game character, Voldo, from the Soul Calibur series.
